Today was one of those exhilarating days you just wish came with a cap so you could bottle it forever. Myself and ten others were graced with the opportunity to parade through North Berwick today with The Queens Baton for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth games. To be apart of the Relay means you have given much to the community so we were all in excellent company for the long 2 hour lead up to our 200 meters of glory. The Relay team was a well oiled machine of reassurance, we were treated to "Born to Run" by the Boss on our way to the staging areas, then a little Pharrell to keep our toes tapping before departing the Relay Van one by one at our prearranged segments. One after the other and more frequently official vehicles went past I knew the Baton was close, or I had been transported to a Tour de France stage. When I heard the roar of clapping I knew my time was near the flashes and beeps from the onlookers cameras were amazing, I couldn't tell if my feet were on the ground. The skies remained sunny in North Berwick which added to the honor of carrying the Baton but before you can say 'hyzer flip' my time was over and I passed the Baton to number 83. I am very proud to be a part of the Queens Relay and carry the Baton for for my contributions to East Lothian associated with disc golf. Thank You to everyone involved with Relay!! Peace
