To enjoy a round of golf with your friends can sometimes be memorable but to be serenaded with the fine sounds of a violin atop a canyon wall while playing 18 holes of disc golf in the Braid Hills is unforgettable. In all we had 46 disc golfers tee off to compete in the 1st Annual UK Team Championships at the Hermitage Golf Course in Edinburgh. In tandem with the University event we also hosted The Scottish Doubles Championship. The idea was to have at least one experienced disc golfer on each card to assist all the new players in the first few rounds and looking back I feel it worked out well. Although Most all of the University students had an Ultimate background and could certainly throw a disc they were new to the sport of disc golf. I can say with certainty unlike the 1st round there were no Ultra stars thrown in the 2nd round :) We had 6 University teams of 4 and 11 doubles teams of 2 join in the fun of 2 rounds of disc golf and a final 9. After the first round of singles the competition was afoot and the players were eager to take the course for the second round of alternate shot in order to better their scores.
A Huge THANK YOU to our Title Sponsor Vibram Disc Golf for providing £200 in prizes for our University Champions from Saint Andrews who each received a 3 disc set.
Second and third places in the University division received a 3 disc set from Latitude 64 and prodigy disc Europe. The Hermitage Golf Course provided the excellent conditions, Simon and cafe staff supplied the excellent food, and Mother nature was kind. Thank You to ALL the volunteers who provided, set-up, broke down and dragged back all the baskets, without you this event would not have happened. This TD is already looking forward to 2016!

The fine art of golf swing training is something that most golfers do not get right as they train incorrectly and can't identify their mistakes and therefore improvement is a slow and frustrating process. Golf aids such as a dual hinged golf clubs or weighted golf trainers are combatants of this slow improvement as they get your swing training on the right track.
